Yellowcard is suing Juice WRLD for $15 million

The members of pop punk outfit Yellowcard are suing hip-hop star Juice WRLD for $15 million, claiming that Juice WRLD’s hit “Lucid Dreams” infringes on their track “Holly Wood Died,” copying melodies from the song without permission. In addition to the $15 million, the band is seeking royalties and co-ownership of the song.

Cited in the lawsuit is a statement given in an interview by Juice WRLD in which he discussed the influence of Fall Out Boy’s albumĀ From Under the Cork Tree on his music, an LP produced by “Holly Wood Died” producer Neal Avron.
